Setting up your new streaming player, stick, or Smart TV is straightforward. Follow this step-by-step guide to connect your device and start streaming. If you run into issues at any stage, feel free to contact our support specialists.
Plug your Roku Premium streaming stick or player directly into an open HDMI port on your television. Note the HDMI input number (e.g., HDMI 1, HDMI 2) so you can select the correct input channel on your TV remote control.
For the best streaming performance, plug your device into a standard wall outlet using the provided power adapter and USB cable. Plugging it into the TV's USB port might cause insufficient power warnings during system updates.
Power on your TV and change the source/input to the HDMI port where your streaming device is connected. You should see the Roku Premium logo appear on the screen.
Open the battery compartment on the back of your remote and insert the batteries. If it's a voice remote, hold down the pairing button (or Home + Back buttons) for 5 seconds until the status light begins flashing to pair it automatically.
Select your language, connect to your home Wi-Fi network, and wait for any automated firmware downloads to complete. Once done, an activation link code will display on the screen. Use a computer or phone to register the device to your account.
If you are installing a Roku Premium Smart TV, the configuration is built directly into the system. Plug the TV power cord into the wall outlet, connect any antenna or cable boxes to the back inputs, and follow the on-screen prompts to connect to the internet and log in. If the TV does not register the setup code, check your network signals or call our support line for assistance.
